Bowling Green locals take over the Kentucky State Fair

BOWLING GREEN, KY.- The Kentucky State Fair is underway — and Bowling Green is playing a major role.

Several local names are front and center, including auctioneer Rylan Shea and Josh Poling of Broadbent Country Hams. Poling is providing the famous ham featured at this year’s Kentucky Farm Bureau Country Ham Breakfast — an event that draws major attention and raises millions for charity.

Professional auctioneer Rylan Shea, representing Bowling Green’s 6-S Auction Company, will lead the bidding.

“Getting to sell this ham is something that auctioneers all across the country dream of,” Shea said.

The prized ham is expected to bring in at least $12 million, with the winning bid going to a charity of the buyer’s choice. Several Kentucky leaders are expected to attend, making this a high-profile and meaningful event.
