Bowling Green Junior High school has a new counseling center in the works

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-Bowling Green Junior High students have something to look forward to as school starts in the fall. The counselor’s office is getting a new location, as well as a look.

Thanks to a Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce initiative project known as Leadership Bowling Green, the Bowling Green Junior High counseling center will be relocated to the center of the school, complete with a brand-new design.

Currently, the counseling center is in the principal’s office, which some students may find intimidating. The goal is to help students get the counseling they need in a private location, where help is individualized.

The president of this Leadership Bowling Green project, Nathan Lee, said this change is a crucial part of the student’s development.

“We’re helping students in their formative years learn what things they like, what careers they want to pursue, and how to get that help from qualified professionals who know what they’re doing. So this is a really important task and I’m really grateful to be a part of this,” Lee said.
