Bowling Green Independent Schools ‘Readifest’ prepares for students to return

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A celebration was held Tuesday night, as a local school district prepares to welcome students back in a week.

The Bowling Green Independent School District held the Readifest event at Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary. This event is sponsored by the district’s Family Resource and Youth Service Centers.

This event brought in a handful of organizations, including the Warren County Public Library, the SoKY Patriots and Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana just to name a few.

All the organizations handed out school supplies among other items. Returning students and staff say they’re thankful to all these organizations and can’t wait to return to the classroom.

“I’m very excited to see all the faces I haven’t seen since school was last out. I hope to have a good time,” said Bowling Green High School student Lynkaylah James.

“The safest place for kids is at school, so we’re excited about that opportunity to bring them back in and get as close to normal as possible,” added Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary principal Delvagus Jackson.
