BOWLING GREEN Ky.-Bowling Green Independent School District’s summer feeding program now has a new summer feeding bus.

On the outside, it’s appropriately painted purple, the officials color of the Bowling Green High School Purples. On the inside, it features a retro design, similar to a 1950s diner.

The bus was donated to the food service program by the district’s transportation department.

The bus will be used to deliver food to students this summer. While the bus is intended to have children sit inside, that’s not something that can happen right now due to the pandemic.

The district’s director of food service, Dalla Emmerson, said she can’t wait for the day students can hop on.

The bus will be making its first deliveries June 4.
