Bowling Green hotel bounces back from COVID restrictions and job loss; grand restaurant opening this Friday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky Grand Hotel is one of many places adapting its business to accommodate COVID-19. Their new outdoor restaurant extension is just one of these changes.

The hotel just finished building their new patio extension to the restaurant that allows for social distancing. With the addition of this extension as well as life returning slowly to normal, the hotel has hired about seven new employees and are training seven more.

The Kentucky Grand Hotel’s “The Bluegrass Restaurant” has been closed for about a year now, largely due to lack of socially distance seating. Through COVID-19, the hotel had to let go of about 15 employees.

At 5 p.m. Friday, the hotel will launch their restaurant’s grand opening under its new name, no longer “The Bluegrass Restaurant,” but now “The Kentucky Grand Restaurant.” The restaurant is only one one of many changes the hotel is making in addition to new menus, party rooms and a private social club.
