Bowling Green holds first ‘Mardi Gras Madness’
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Lots of green, purple and gold…Bowling Green celebrated their first Mardi Gras Madness on Saturday.
Dozens of parade floats navigated their way downtown with crowds of community members cheering them on for the Mardi Gras Parade.
The fun actually started much earlier in the day at Circus Square Park with a kids parade, puppy parade, food trucks and jazz bands- something for everyone!
“I’ve learned that we have a really large contingency in Bowling Green that has Louisiana roots- we’re glad to know that. So we hope to bring the spirit they have in Louisiana to Bowling Green, but make it kid-friendly and kid-centered,” said Kiwanis Club of Bowling Green Treasurer Janie Hurt.
The event was organized by Kiwanis Club. They hope to do this in more years to come.
