Bowling Green gets new sign during beautification project of I-65
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you’ve been traveling north on Interstate 65 entering Bowling Green recently, there’s a good chance you’ve seen the beginning of what is the new southern gateway into Warren County.
The project is part of Operation Pride’s “Beautify I-65” that will beautify five interchanges along I-65 and two gateways.
Officials with Operation Pride say 22 million cars a year pass through Bowling Green on the interstate, and this beautification project is not only a first impression, but it says something important to potential residents and new business.
“This is a community that cares, they’re welcoming, they have pride in their community, and I can see me locating my business from where I’m currently located to Bowling Green, Kentucky,” said Operation Pride Co-chair Johnny Webb.
Operation Pride says when finished, both the north and southern gateways will illuminate at night, serving as a beacon for all travelers who pass by.
