Bowling Green firefighters rescue person from Barren River early Sunday morning

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – When someone in the Mt. Ayr subdivision heard screaming coming from the Barren River area at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, police arrived and saw someone in the water on the River Street side.

Bowling Green firefighters responded with two boats and 20 personnel.

Within five minutes of receiving the call, firefighters pulled the person to safety. The person was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
