Bowling Green Fire Department introduces new spokeswoman

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Fire Department is excited to introduce the department’s new public information officer, Katie McKee, the first civilian to hold that title for the department.

She is filling a position left open after the previous PIO, Marlee Boenig, who retired last month.

She is a Bowling Green native, Bowling Green High School alumna and Western Kentucky University alumna.

McKee’s job prior was at Western Kentucky University in the financial aid department.

She says she is excited to work to inform the public about fire safety.

McKee has been with the department for two weeks now and has just begun her role as the department’s primary media contact.
