Bowling Green detective reassigned to special task force

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-A local detective with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office has come a long way since immigrating to the United States at age of 13. This week, he was sworn in to serve as a member of a federal law enforcement agency.

On Tuesday, detective Vedad Hadzikadunic was sworn in for another two-year tour with the Western Kentucky U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The force works to catch dangerous fugitives and assist in high profile investigations.

The detective has already spent two years on the force.

He first came to the United States as a Bosnian refugee, since then he’s built up an extensive and impressive resume in law enforcement.

Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower said it’s his deputy’s extensive background and special skill set that makes him right for the job.

The detective’s position with the sheriff’s office and the task force allows for a close working relationship between the two agencies.
