Bowling Green city leaders to vote on new $4 million fire station

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The price tag on a new fire station in Bowling Green will be up for debate this coming Tuesday.

City commissioners are expected to vote on the construction cost for the new Lovers Lane fire station, an amount nearing $4 million.

Yet, according to the 2019-2020 budget, the city has set aside only $3 million for the project.

Mayor Bruce Wilkerson told WNKY he has concerns over the steep price, so he’s unsure at this time whether he’ll be a yes or no vote.

Once built, the station will be located at the Lovers Lane Soccer Complex.

Commissioners will tackle the topic at City Hall, Tuesday, at 4:30 p.m.
