Bowling Green City Commission approves new projects for Cave Mill Road and Bryant Way

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Residents near Scottsville Road can expect some changes coming to both Cave Mill Road and Bryant Way.

Cave Mill is set for an expansion after the City Commission approved more than $360,000 for the project.

The main improvement will extend the right turn lane from Scottsville Road all the way to Crossings Boulevard.

City officials say the extension should significantly improve traffic flow, and help reduce congestion in the area.

“That’s probably one of our most traveled corridors in the city. So having that additional lane will help with traffic congestion, especially in peak hours… and of course this time of year around Christmas, if you’ve driven it, you’ve seen how busy you can get. So this additional lane will help mitigate some of that traffic congestion,” Kyle Hunt, City of Bowling Green Engineer, says.

Meanwhile, Bryant Way will be getting a greenway addition to help beautify the area.

“Eight foot greenway between Scottsville Road and Ken Bale Boulevard. Design’s complete and so we’ve applied for a TAP grant for property acquisition and construction. If it’s approved, then we’ll move forward with the property acquisition… and you could expect construction to start taking place probably early 2027,” Hunt says.

The timeline for the Cave Mill project is currently unknown, but estimates are that work will begin between 2028 and 2029.
