Bowling Green City Commission approves $573,000 for new sidewalks

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The city of Bowling Green is planning to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on 3,500 feet of new sidewalk.

The city approved just over $573,000 for the project at Tuesday afternoon’s commission meeting.

The sidewalks will be constructed on: North Lee Drive, Crewdson Drive, North Sunrise Drive and Woodway Street and Old Barren River Road.

The money to fund the project is coming from community development block grant funds.

Input from neighborhood residents and city staff indicated a need to install new sidewalks at various locations in the area to enhance pedestrian safety and close gaps in the city’s sidewalk network.
