Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce teaches students about community leadership
The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is teaching area high school students how to become leaders in the community.
The Chamber teamed up this morning with 130 high-schoolers from the Warren County and Bowling Green Independent School Districts for the program called, SCK Launch.
The students heard remarks from many public figures in the area, such as Western Kentucky University President Tim Caboni, Warren County Judge-Executive Michael Buchanon, and Bowling Green Mayor Bruce Wilkerson.
The Chamber is providing corporate level leadership and project management training through the Franklin-Covey Organization, and the students are now responsible for leading a service project in their schools.
Armed with the insight of those community leaders, the students at today’s meeting brainstormed ideas for their service projects.
