Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce launches social media campaign: ‘Bowling Green Best Place to Live’
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Bowling Green is the best place to live in Kentucky according to TIME.COM. In response, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is launching a social media campaign to highlight some of the reasons that the city is such a great place to live.
The Time article lists affordability, safety and a bustling economy as some of the reasons why they ranked Bowling Green the best place to live in the state.
On Wednesday the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce took to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn to share the first infographic in a series that will highlight real data showing why Bowling Green deserves the title Best Place to Live in Kentucky.
“I guess I’m a little bias, but I think we got ranked best city because we have the best people, and the best people make up the best community,” said Bowling Green City Commissioner Slim Nash.
The infographic released this week highlights diversity in the city. Thirteen percent of residents are foreign born.
“We have a growing, thriving community. Often times when you live in that community you might get wrapped up in the things that you don’t like and you forget to see the things that you do,” said Nash.
In 2018, international business created 244 jobs in Bowling Green. A Western Kentucky University student, Allison Baker said she’s noticed.
“I think it’s great. I think the town is really up and coming. I’m a senior at Western, so I’ve seen a lot of growth. I’ve seen a lot of businesses opening, and I think it’s a great thing,” Baker said.
According to Time’s ranking, Bowling Green is beating out other cities when it comes to quality of life and education.
“We have great schools, we have a great park system, we have a thriving university that sits on a hill,” said Nash.
The downside to all this growth is traffic and affordable housing.
