Bowling Green Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month at BG Fiestaval

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – Bowling Green and Warren County leaders joined the community over the weekend to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month during the ninth annual BG Fiestaval.

The three-day festival featured traditional food, drinks, music and dancing, drawing residents together to honor Hispanic culture and traditions. On Saturday, Mayor Todd Alcott, members of the Bowling Green City Commission and county officials signed a joint proclamation recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month.

Police Chief Michael Delaney, who attended for the first time, said the celebration reflects the city’s commitment to inclusivity.

“It’s a great experience to be part of a Hispanic cultural heritage and really to have this festival here in Bowling Green,” Delaney said. “They’re part of our community. We want everyone to feel welcome and safe in Bowling Green, and being able to participate in events like this really brings unity to our community.”

The festival is held twice each year and organizers say it continues to grow, attracting larger crowds with each event.

Hispanic Heritage Month is observed nationally from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. More information on BG Fiestaval can be found at bgfiestaval.com.
