Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates 90th anniversary

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s a big day in Bowling Green, and not just because it’s Ron Bunch’s birthday, as the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is turning 90.

They took Friday to celebrate all those years of helping the community grow. Bunch says over those years, the main thing he’s seen is success.

“When you look back at the time that we’ve been able to spend, we’re building on the foundations of others… and so here 90 years later… when you look around, you can see a lot of success that we’ve been able to have as a team with our volunteers, board members and staff. I think the accolades and the outcomes are there. But then we started talking about the real things that are important, the way people’s lives have changed,” he says.

For the newest Chamber executive vice president, he’s found not just a community, but a home.

“Having looked from the outside in at the Chamber as my wife and I were serving here in our various vocational capacities, and now being on the inside… Wow. Just to echo that again, I said this in the board meeting earlier this week, I was sitting across from that whole wall of board chairs that are pictured upstairs in our board room… and I was really just awestruck, again just about the commitment and the vision that continues to be even in this room today. So from Sherry and Dennis Chaney and our three kids, thank you for committing to a community that helped us raise our kids and are now successful, married, thriving folks getting back into this community,” Dennis Chaney, EVP of Chamber Partnership and COO says.

Happy 90th to the Bowling Green Chamber!
