Bowling Green and WKU unite to support New Americans

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The City of Bowling Green and Western Kentucky University are teaming up to support New Americans in Warren County.

Panelists, Monday night, highlighted the challenges immigrants face, from extreme violence to forced migration.

Organizations attended ‘Welcoming New Americans to Bowling Green’ seeking community involvement in support and advocacy for New Americans.

Attendees showed their appreciation to both city and WKU for creating a safe, welcoming place for Bowling Green’s heavy immigrant population.

WKU will further the conversation Tuesday when Every Campus a Refuge discusses the role of colleges and universities in assisting refugee populations in their communities.
