Bowling Green and Owensboro mayors set wager on census results
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The mayors of the cities of Bowling Green and Owensboro are facing off in a bet to see which city’s residents fill out the most online census forms.
Bowling Green Mayor Bruce Wilkerson told WNKY that if more of his city’s residents fill out online census forms, Owensboro Mayor Tom Watson will have to deliver 5lbs of barbecue and sides from Old Hickory Bar-B-Q in Owensboro to Bowling Green City Hall.
Yet, if more people in Owensboro fill out online census forms, Wilkerson will have to attend an Owensboro city commission meeting and sing, “My old Kentucky Home.”
Wilkersonson told WNKY he doesn’t like to sing, dance or wear silly clothes.
Census forms will be available to fill out online beginning in April.
