BowFlex recalls more than 3 million dumbbells after reported injuries

(CNN) – Some popular weight equipment is under a recall.

The exercise brand BowFlex has recalled 3.7 million adjustable dumbbells after more than 100 reports of injuries.

The Consumer Product and Safety Commission said recalled items include the Model 552 dumbbells, which adjust from five to 52 pounds, and the Model 1090, which adjusts from 10 to 90 pounds.

The commission said users have reported the metal weighted plates becoming dislodged and falling on people.

The impacts have caused injuries, such as concussions, abrasions, broken toes and contusions.

The dumbbells were sold in stores as well as online on Amazon and the BowFlex website.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the dumbbells and seek a replacement or refund.
