Bourbon lovers raise over $20,000 for tornado victims

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A couple of Bowling Green’s own bourbon lovers are teaming up to help out tornado victims.

Each year, the Bowling Green Bourbon Group fundraises for a local organization. After the tornado, they got right to work, determined to surpass last year’s $7,000.

In only nine days, the bourbon group raised over $20,000. The group will donate the money to Stuff the Bus and Habitat for Humanity – 100 percent of the funds helping tornado victims.

Facebook group admin Andrew Gibbs said, “Bowling Green is always going to have a willingness and resilience to give back. I’m just glad I can be a part of this community. Shout out to all the people who have donated so far. I’m super gracious just to be in this position to present the check. It just gives a sense of gratitude which is awesome.”
