Blood Assurance low blood supply due to recent storms and holidays

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- With everyone traveling during this busy season, it can be easy to ignore the critical time we are in when it comes to donating blood.

Donating blood is one of the easiest ways to save a life and become someone’s hero, and experts say, “The need for blood is on the rise but the amount of people donating is declining at an even faster rate”.

According to Max Winitz, the media relations coordinator for Blood Assurance, these are the conditions many blood facilities are in.

Max says, “We are in a critical state right now as far as the local blood supply goes. December, January is always the the the two worst months of the entire year for blood donations.”
