Blood Assurance asking for donations due to severe storms

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After the devastating storms we saw Wednesday, Blood Assurance is looking to make up for the loss of donations.

The weather caused a lot of blood drive and appointment cancellations across their region. Blood Assurance serves Tri-Star Greenview hospital in Bowling Green, but they also work with Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee… where one of the tornadoes touched down.

They say donating regularly is something you should consider, especially BEFORE a disaster strikes.

“We’ve seen after mass tragedies like the Bowling Green tornado that we saw back in 2021, we saw so many people come out for that… We have lines of people because the community wants to help, but we really need that blood before that disaster happens so that we are helping as many people in the immediate aftermath as we can,” Brooke Katz, Media Relations Coordinator at Blood Assurance says.

If you want to help donate, you can visit BloodAssurance.org to schedule an appointment.
