BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Women’s Tennis junior Sofia Blanco was named to the All-Conference USA Singles Second Team, the league announced Wednesday.

“We are really proud of Sofia and her accomplishment,” WKU Women’s Tennis Head Coach Greg Davis said. “She was very close to having a perfect record in singles, which is an incredible achievement.”

Blanco posted an 18-2 record in singles play this spring, which is tied for the second-most singles wins in a single season in program history. The Caracas, Venezuela, native won at least one match in each of the No. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 positions during the season. She played primarily at No. 3 singles, where she posted an 8-1 record. Blanco finished the season with 40 career singles wins, which puts her in third all-time in program history.

In addition to her success in singles play, Blanco posted eight wins in doubles play in 2024 and moved into second place in program history in career doubles wins with 38.

Blanco was named the CUSA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week on March 13 after starting the season with an 11-1 singles record. In addition to her All-CUSA Singles Second Team nod, Blanco was named to the CUSA All-Academic Team earlier this spring.

It is the first All-CUSA selection for the Lady Toppers since the 2018 season.
