Bicyclist killed in vehicle versus pedestrian collision in Hopkins County

DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal collision involving a Hopkins County bicyclist.

According to a release, KSP Post received a dispatch to the 4400 block of Charleston Road in Dawson Springs on the morning of Feb. 18.

There were reports of a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

KSP’s initial investigation shows that a pickup truck traveling northbound on Charleston Road entered the second lane attempting to pass another northbound vehicle.

The pickup truck struck a bicyclist, 49-year-old David Baggot of Dawson Springs, according to the release.

Baggot was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision remains under investigation.
