Bicyclist airlifted to hospital after crash with vehicle in Glasgow

GLASGOW, Ky.- A man was airlifted to the hospital after Glasgow police say he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning.

According to authorities, the crash occurred at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and South S L Rogers Boulevard.

Police said Ashley Case was attempting to make a left turn in her SUV on to Rogers Boulevard and failed to see the bicyclist, identified as William J. Ray.

Ray was struck by the vehicle. He was taken to TJ Samson Community Hospital and later airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of head injuries.

Ray is the Superintendent of the Glasgow Electric Plant Board.

The crash remains under investigation.
