BGPD presented with gift cards to pass along to tornado victims
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Last week, the Bowling Green Police Department received around $400 in gift cards from the Rotary Club of Bowling Green to give to those in need.
The gift cards were distributed to both the BGPD and Warren County Sheriff’s Office for disaster relief efforts. The cards are part of a coordinated effort between the county and city.
A lot of the donations are going to filling the gas tanks of tornado victims so that they can get back and forth to appointments and meet with contractors for their houses, said Ronnie Ward, the Public Information Officer of BGPD.
“I’d say gasoline and food are probably the heaviest things that are needed the most by those folks now,” said Ward.
The gift cards will continue to be distributed to those affected by the tornadoes.
