UPDATE: BGPD investigating death of man found underneath railcar

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Police Department is conducting a death investigation.
According to an investigation report, a train was traveling north on the railroad passing behind the Train Depot located at 401 Kentucky Street. The CSX conductor told police that he observed a subject passed out and lying down in the roadway. Upon discovery of the subject, the conductor stopped the train. The conductor notified dispatch of the subject lying down on the tracks.
The report states that the Bowling Green Police Department, Medical Center EMS, and the conductor of CSX searched the train tracks in the 400 block of Kentucky Street to W 12th Avenue. A deceased male was located underneath one of the rail cars on the train tracks behind the Train Depot.
Law enforcement identified the deceased male as Marty Walker at the scene.
According to the coroner, Walker’s time of death is 3:38am on Friday.
The conductor of the train says the train was on autopilot and was traveling at approximately 40-45 miles per hour before the male subject was seen.
The investigation is ongoing. Accident reconstruction is currently pending.
