BGPD hosts annual award ceremony

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Bowling Green heroes were recognized today for their hard work in protecting our community.

The Bowling Green Police Department hosted their annual employee award ceremony for the year of 2021.

Around 22 police officers and one employee were surrounded by family and friends as they were recognized for their achievements.

Awards presented include the Life Saving Award, where 14 officers were awarded for saving a person’s life.

Ronnie Ward, public information officer of BGPD, said, “It does keep an officer motivated to continue to go on to serve their community, which they do whole heartedly everyday and without complaint.”

Other awards presented include Officer of the Year, the BGPD Legacy Award and the 20 Years Distinguished Service award.
