BGPD discusses safe driving tips in the rain
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Strap on your galoshes because the forecast calls for rain all week.
When the weather is bad, accidents on the road tend to increase. Sometimes you are unable to see clearly, or even worse, you might slide and hydroplane in the car.
Derek Trevino, manager of the Bowling Green Discount Tire store, broke down the importance of proper tire maintenance and what it can do for you in a slick situation, such as a rainy day. Bowling Green Police Department’s PIO Ronnie Ward said the police respond to a host of hydroplaning incidents throughout the year.
But both agreed on one thing to be certain – that you lower your chances of an accident when it’s pouring, which was “Just give yourself more time.”
