BGFD Hosting Recruitment Open House

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – The Bowling Green Fire Department is inviting prospective firefighters to learn more about the profession during a pair of upcoming recruitment open houses – one of which will be later this week.

The first event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Public Safety Training Center on Porter Pike. A second open house is planned for June 30 at the same time and location.

Fire department officials said attendees will have the chance to meet with the department’s recruitment team, tour fire apparatus and the training facility, and ask questions about the hiring process.

The department is currently accepting applications for firefighter positions through July 12. Officials encouraged interested applicants to apply online through the city’s fire recruitment website.

The Bowling Green Fire Department said the events are designed to give potential recruits a better understanding of the job and the department’s mission of service and public safety.
