BG/WC legislators proclaim 5th Cultivate Kindness day
Proclamation honors BGHS student’s memory
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For the fifth year in a row, the City of Bowling Green is proclaiming Cultivate Kindness day in honor of a Bowling Green High School student gone too soon.
McKenzi Loid was killed by a drunk driver in December 2017.
Found on her screen saver – a message reminding herself to cultivate kindness.
McKenzi’s family developed the nonprofit Cultivate Kindness in her honor, serving the Bowling Green community in her honor.
McKenzi’s Sister Emily Wilkins said, “It’s really special to be honored by the City of Bowling Green and just to know that support is there for our organization from, not only supporters in the community but also government officials, too. It’s pretty special.”
Ever since, city and county officials have signed an official proclamation this time of year, marking McKenzi’s December birthday as Cultivate Kindness day… encouraging us to carry on her loving legacy.
