BG/WC Humane Society lays out their needs for 2019 year
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society has already laid out their plans for the new year.
But with those plans comes needs that have to be filled.
The most obvious being continuing their quick turnover rate with adoptions.
However, their wishlist goes beyond just adoptions.
Staff members tell us they could use more non-clumping clay cat litter, bleach, liquid laundry detergent, and paper towels.
While they had plenty of volunteers in 2018, they still encourage more in 2019.
Another need is donations of cold weather supplies like straw for outdoor animals, gloves, shovels, and salt for sidewalks.
They also say they’re bringing a new program that they started in 2018 over into the new year.
It’s called “slumber parties” which is a program for those who are hesitant to adopt.
We spoke to the Adoption Center Manager, Leah Lawrence.
Lawrence says there are openings for individuals who want to dedicate their time to assisting with less glamorous tasks.
Those include laundry, cleaning, and organizing.
They also need a few office items like bleach wipes and copy paper but most of all, the community’s continued support.
