BG-WC Humane Society converting donated coolers into winter cat shelters

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society is asking for help in an ongoing project to help shelter area cats during the cold.
The humane society says it recently teamed up with Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 186 to collect coolers and convert them into winter shelters for the Community Cat Program.
With the first batch ready, the humane society says it is still looking ahead at needing more shelters for the upcoming winter months.
Here’s how you can help:
- Donate your spare cooler. The humane society says it needs coolers 40 quarts or larger to provide life-saving shelter.
- Don’t worry if the cooler is a bit damaged or not new looking. It still can serve its purpose!
- Drop off donations during normal business hours: BGWCHS is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
To drop off your cooler donation, visit BGWCHS at 1924 Louisville Road in Bowling Green.
