BOLWING GREEN, KY – After winning districts in June and state in July, Bowling Green East Little League is heading to Indianapolis this weekend for the Great Lakes Regional Tournament.

The team will take on the squad representing Michigan on Saturday at 9 am local time and that will stream on ESPN+. If they advance, they will play Ohio’s little league team on Sunday at 3 pm local time.

Some of the players and coach Goodnight recently shared their excitement for the weekend.

“ I’m very excited to get a little league world series.” Wyatt Scott said. “My dad actually was on the very first Bowling Green East all-star team. I just want to play, and I want to get a world series.”

“We can’t say enough to this community for the support that they’ve given us and helping us along the way because it just means so much,” head coach Jef Goodnight said. “Also, you know, it’s not all about baseball. It’s also about teaching these young men to go out and talk to people in the community and tell them their stories and things like that. It’s been a win-win for everybody.”

“Just one year,” Trace Wilkins said. “You have one year, one chance to go to the Little League World Series and we’re doing it right now.”
