BG Ballpark hosts baseball card trade show
Kids say new hobby sparks joy and friendship
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you attended this weekend’s Hot Rods game, you might have walked away with some legendary baseball cards.
Thanks to the Hot Rods’ support, young card traders set up shop in the BG Ballpark.
The young entrepreneurs put their best cards on display, swapping and trading cards ranging from your everyday find all the way to mint condition personally signed Grade 9 treasures.
Young Jaxson Cummings created 270 Sports Cards – a decision spurred by his new love of trading cards.
“This hobby kind of teaches kids to invest,” explained Cummings. “So, you invest in a certain player, and he pans out, and you can make a lot of money from it. So, it kind of teaches kids about business in the real world.”
Cummings says he hopes more kids join him in his love of cards as the hobby has given him a new passion to love.
