BG 26.2 and Half Marathon gather to support those with MS

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This past Sunday, the BG 26.2 shut down the streets of Bowling Green to create a space for runners to support a great cause.

This year marks the 12th year that hundreds of people from all over the United states gathered to run the race to beat multiple sclerosis. Many groups, like Achilles International, say that “this was more than just a marathon.”

This marathon gives people with disabilities the chance to compete athletically and inspire so many people to run.

Diirector Lilly Riherd shares that her sister had MS. This was created in memory for her, and Riherd hopes that parents see their kids and gain a desire to run.

She also says, “There’s a lot of people that are on the other side that see it, and say, You know, I think I want to do this. People can see, hey, you know, it’s something I can do. that’s what brings them to Bowling Green is because the calls and we are the only-the only marathon, the only half marathon that generally raises money for MS.”

The BG 26.2 Half marathon will have more opportunities for you and your family to run. If you unsure where to start, there are many running groups and that you can join to prepare for your next marathon, there is an 18-week training, created by runners for runners.
