Beverly Hills Bargain Boutique to become Curated Closet Consignment

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-  If you’ve driven down the bypass lately, then you’ve seen Beverly Hills Bargain Boutique is officially closing, but one former employee and Western Kentucky University graduate was inspired, and she’s keeping the store alive but with a twist.

Rylee Peterson, the owner of the newly named business, Curated Closet Consignment, says, “I didn’t expect them to retire for maybe another five years. And I thought it would be really cool to maybe run that kind of business one day. But yeah, I thought it was way further down the road. And whenever I saw that they had announced on Facebook they were closing, I kind of got heart palpitations a little bit.”

Peterson is stepping into entrepreneurship for the first time, but she plans to create a space for customers to shop like they normally would with a trusted business.

Not only is Peterson carrying out the tradition, but she’s also dedicating herself to a craft she cares deeply for.

Peterson says, “I would love to run my own consignment store because I love sourcing secondhand clothing. But, again, it felt like a faraway dream. So it has been so exciting to lean into this transition. And even though I have enjoyed my career in marketing, this is where my true passion lies.”

Curated Closet Consignment will be open in early August. For information, you can reach out to Peterson on Facebook.
