Beshear provides update on severe weather

FRANKFORT, Ky. – On Tuesday, Gov. Andy Beshear provided an update on severe weather effects that continue to impact much of the Commonwealth.

According to the governor, as of this morning, there were 800 customers across the state without water, and first responders performed 142 rescues since last Wednesday, with 272 evacuations by boat.

The Kentucky State Police state that their telecommunicators have answered over 18,000 calls in less than a week.

As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, officials report that 457 state roadways were closed, 440 by high water and 17 by mudslides or rockslides.
