FRANKFORT, Ky. – On Thursday, the City of Bowling Green says local officials were presented with more than $2 million in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Funding.

City grants coordinator Nick Cook, city manager Jeff Meisel and city commissioner Carlos Bailey met Gov. Andy Beshear in Frankfort, where they received the check.

The funds will be used to build 10 affordable housing units, the city states.

Habitat for Humanity will build six single-family attached units at Durbin Estates, while Live the Dream Development Inc. will build two duplexes on Old Barren River Road, providing four affordable rental housing units, according to the city.
