Beshear on Team Kentucky update; COVID positivity rate continues to fall

FRANFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear provided an update on Team Kentucky today, covering the steady decrease in COVID-19 cases in Kentucky.

It is currently the fourth straight week of COVID-19 cases dropping.

In addition, trends are showing the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in two months. It is the fewest cases since December. The positivity rate as of today has lowered to 12.7%.

“We are absolutely heading to a much better place,”” said Gov. Beshear.

The vaccination pace is slowing, and the Department of Public Health confirmed an increased death toll. This included a 33-year old woman from Mayfield and her unborn child.
