Beshear announces ‘Collaborative Blueprint’ for future economic growth
FRANKFORT, Ky. – On Tuesday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced the Collaborative Blueprint created by and for Kentucky’s economic developers.
It’s a statewide initiative led by Team Kentucky with input and support from partners across the Commonwealth and is now publicly available. The goal is for economist developers in Kentucky to come together, working in many different ways to build on and grow our state’s economy.
One thing to look forward to – over 100 in-person and cross-functional workshops across five regional areas with some of those meetings happening right here in south central Kentucky.
A storm-ready community, Graves County, is also being honored for that certification this week.
It comes of course after a deadly tornado hit the community a little more than two years ago.
Being storm ready means that the community has done advanced planning, education and awareness. To qualify, the community must have more than one way to alert the public of severe weather warnings and develop a formal hazardous weather plan.
The biggest difference? Better methods of communication with everyone involved.
As far as south central Kentucky goes, Warren, Barren and Metcalfe counties are all considered to be storm ready according to the National Weather Service.
