Beshear: $3.7 million to go toward Warren, Edmonson Counties for high-speed internet
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear announced Monday morning that $203 million is now headed to 35 counties to provide high-speed internet.
Beshear’s Better Internet Program is providing more than $89.1 million toward grants to different internet service providers and local governments, with recipients matching the state’s contributions.
This could help bring a more affordable, high-speed option to more than 34,000 Kentucky families and businesses.
In particular, South Central Telecom is receiving $3.7 million to service households in Warren and Edmonson Counties.
Locally, this will expand access to high-speed internet to the 215 unserved households and businesses located in these counties.
