Bernardi ready to head WKU offensive line in 2024

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Football is just two weeks away from opening their season on the road against No. 5 Alabama, and in addition to some changes on the roster, the coaching staff has also seen some fresh faces.

The Tops bring in a new offensive line coach in 2024 as Joe Bernardi joins the Hill after serving the same role in 2023 at Troy, and as an offensive analyst at Auburn in 2022.

While Bernardi is new to the team, he recently shared how the Tops welcoming in Will Friend as a new offensive coordinator on the sidelines has impacted his position group.

“ I think every year you go into the offseason, you watch what you did last year, obviously with a new offensive coordinator, the core of the offense is going to be the same,” Bernardi said. “We might tweak a little thing here too, but you start with the fundamentals, right? You start with the core plays and then you move to the adjustments off those plays, so just taking it step by step, I think guys have done really well.”
