Beloved Bowling Green community member passes away
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One beloved Bowling Green community member passed away early Tuesday, and many are sharing fond memories.
Danny Carothers wore many hats as a member of the community. He was a coach, a volunteer and the community program director at The Foundry, among many other titles. Carothers’s impact traveled well beyond his work and family. At The Foundry, he was known for greeting all the little ones, calling them ‘his babies.’
His work with children was a special one, helping the kids learn, being a shoulder to cry on, while also setting an example for adults like him as well.
“He was willing, even in a time where we don’t see all that many men of his generation engaged with children, he was willing to be that example. And I hope that we all rise up a little bit more to give back to our community a little bit more to honor him in that way,” said Shawna Wood, executive director of The Foundry Christian Community Center.
Wood said Carothers had a special connection with everyone he met. News 40 will continue cover Carothers life, legacy and impact later in the week.
