Beam raising ceremony held at Western Kentucky University
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A blueprint is becoming reality as Western Kentucky University has just finished the steel framework for the new Gordon Ford College of Business Center on campus.
The last beam was placed Thursday afternoon, coated in an iconic red paint to celebrate finishing another step in the construction process for the newest building on campus. WKU President Timothy Caboni and incoming college dean Dr. Evelyn Thrasher said the building will be transformative to the way business is taught on the hill.
The center will feature a professional clothes closet for students as well as a mock sales floor, meeting spaces and all kinds of new features in order to better interact with students and facilitate an environment conducive to modern day learning.
Students and staff were able to sign their names on the red beam today ahead of it reaching it’s final destination, and now with the frame finished, the historic project is one step closer to being complete.
WKU said the plan is to have the building up and running, ready for class in fall 2025.
