Be ‘Red Cross Ready’ with a free weather radio

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Red Cross is partnering with the Plano Fire Department to ensure the Warren County community is staying prepared for any natural disaster.

When it comes to tornadoes, severe thunder storms and flooding, experts want to ensure that people are fully equipped and ready to face any disaster.

Next week, the Red Cross will be working with the Plano Fire Department to present weather safety preparedness tips and provide weather alert radios for free per household while supplies last.

According to Red Cross Disaster Program manager Jason Dotson, “Weather alert are basically going to tell you anytime there’s an immediate threat to your life based on weather conditions, so this is part of the continuing follow up that we’ve been involved with since the 2021 tornados, one of those continued things we do in the Red Cross. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference for those that need it.”

You will be able to get a weather radio next Thursday, Sept.28 at 5 p.m. and Saturday Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Plano Fire Department at 3210 Plano Road in Bowling Green.
