Be a Santa to a Senior this holiday season
BOWLING GREEN,Ky.- It’s the season of giving and now you have a chance to ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’.
The trees are up for this year’s ‘Be a Santa for a Senior’ campaign.
The annual campaign was an idea created by Home Instead Senior Care in Bowling Green to make sure seniors aren’t forgotten this holiday season.
Each year this campaign provides gifts and holiday cheer to seniors, many of which feel isolated or lonely during this time of year.
Many seniors just want basic items, like socks, headphones, and clothing.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is one of the participating locations and has been a part of the campaign for many years.
“Just like children may not have very many things on Christmas Day, the same goes for seniors. So, for us to be a part of this, we are happy to do it. It makes us feel great. We have a tree set up in the office that have paper ornaments that some of the seniors in the community have selected items they request,” said WCSO Captain Curtis Hargett.
To Be a ‘Santa for a Senior’ you can pick up an ornament off a tree at one of the participating locations.
