Barren Inc. kicks off new year; sets priorities at annual meeting in Glasgow

GLASGOW, Ky. – Barren Inc. held its annual meeting at the Cave Area Conference Center, marking the start of a new year for the organization.

Leaders highlighted accomplishments from the past year and shared plans and priorities for 2026 while attendees enjoyed live music, food and a cocktail hour.

The meeting also included the installation of incoming President, Cheyanne Fant, who spoke about her goals for the year ahead.

“I want us to be the kind of chamber that is pulling in the same direction,” Fant said. “We’re all supporting one another by being local and supporting our Chamber of Commerce partners.

“We’re trying to build housing in the area. We’re trying to recruit businesses, and we’re also trying to support the businesses we have because that is the heart of what we do at the chamber,” she added.

Chamber officials said listening before acting is important to ensure small businesses and community members receive the help they need.
