Barren County schools plan to transition to in-person class 4 days a week
GLASGOW Ky.-The Barren County School District announced their upcoming plan to transition to more in-person instruction.
Starting March 8, the plan is to have elementary students learn in-person Monday through Thursday. On March 15, middle and high school students will transition to the 4-day week as well. Fridays will be used as distance learning days for all students.
Ventilation systems are also being upgraded throughout the district. The filtration system’s ability to capture airborne containments will be enhanced.
This decision was made due to the declining number of positive cases in the district, as well as the staff receiving the Moderna vaccine. Barren County school staff say they’re ready to see the students again and take another step to a more normalized schedule.
The district emphasizes that this will only work if students and parents cooperate with the guidelines to stay healthy.
